March 1, 2016 - Audiences like to be surprised. And so do we. That’s why coming up with out-of-the-box entertainment ideas is as fun for us as it is for your audiences. So here’s a show to add to your Yapsody Ovation List.
This year, Oregonians celebrated Valentine’s Weekend at Wildhorse Resort & Casino in Pendleton, Oregon with the Canadian quartet The Tenors – the four handsome guys with a unique blend of classical and pop, wearing Armani suits, holding on to their roots by performing Leonard Cohen’s Hallelujah at their shows. Packaged with a special Valentines dinner, each performance served as a quintessential date night, driving plenty of love birds, young and old, into the casino.
Two days later, they performed at Northern Quest Resort & Casino in Spokane, Washington, where they were just as warmly received, drawing crowds and high-end players on what would otherwise be a quiet Monday night.
Over the years, The Tenors have performed at very few casinos. According to Steve Seiden, President of Yapsody Entertainment, “This is very surprising considering that both Northern Quest and Wildhorse received large crowds, raving comments, and tremendous appreciation. Maybe people don’t believe they would do well in rural areas. But Wildhorse, which is several hours from Portland, brought in a completely new set of high-end clientele, including people who didn’t even know the casino existed.”
The Tenors had their entire stage set with them, adding energy to the room. Justin Kobluk, Northern Quest’s Director of Entertainment remarked, "The Tenors are at the top of the entertainment food chain. Their performance brought the house down. It's the type of show that people will be bragging about seeing for years and it's a must-see when it returns.”
For those who are not familiar with The Tenors, their spellbinding multi-platinum albums have topped Billboard’s Classical and Classical-Crossover Charts, and in 2015 they topped on iTunes with their latest album Under One Sky. 150+ television appearances including PBS and The Oprah Winfrey Show, over 500 concerts across five continents, and stage appearances with the likes of Elton John, Sir Paul McCartney, and Justin Bieber place The Tenors in a category of their own.
The Tenors have a way with their audiences, leaving them smitten with their euphonious originals like Lead With Your Heart and Forever Young, refurbished covers of the classics Lean On Me and Besame Mucho, as well as an Elvis Presley Medley.
The Tenors have earned Yapsody’s Triple Ovation rating for their (i) ability to draw large crowds to a casino, (ii) out-of-the-box originality, and (iii) delivery of high quality performances (not to mention being a perfect show for spreading the Valentines Day spirit).
